Capoeira is all the buzz these days. I turned on the television the other night to see a Capoeira (who enjoys this sport / game) having a total makeover. Besides that, I went to a circus show a few months ago, and I guess I had too much? You guessed it. Capoeira

Capoeira is a martial art form that originated in Brazil over 500 years. Today is also considered as an exercise or a game. Usually, two people enter a cycle and start doing sweeps, kicks and other martial arts moves.

As a personal trainer, I’m in and out of many health clubs. Capoeira began to see as the new trend in fitness classes. It is quickly becoming the new trend for health clubs. But I really started learning about Capoeira when a client asked me about ways you can strengthen your body function better. To be honest, I was at a complete loss of words. I had no idea what he was talking about.

I did some research in this exciting game / sport and developed a functional program for her use. The capoeira had been working to traditional machines and exercises. After my research I knew she really had to move in a different direction. No pun intended.

We started functional training. That means doing exercises and movements that are consistent with daily tasks: lifting, jumping, throwing and pushing. We have introduced exercises such as squats, lunges, push-ups, lunges and dead lifts explosive. Each exercise focused on strengthening the muscles quickly, without time to think about movement.

After months of training, this Capoeirista was ready to return to the circle. His body was functionally stronger, and it showed in his kicks, leaps and jumps.

If you like capoeira or other martial arts consider functional exercise and strength training as a friend. Building a body for your specific sport or interest will ensure many years of healthy competition.
